Arts Gowanus ArtWalk on Atlantic Ave

This weekend, stroll down Atlantic Avenue to view a 1.5 mile-immersive art exhibit that passes through Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, and Downtown Brooklyn. The self-guided exhibit, featuring the works of renowned Brooklyn artists including Swoon, A.V. Ryan, Miguel Ayuso, Natale Adgnot, and many more, will include photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture, and installations. Artwork will be displayed on storefronts, roll down gates, and dining fences of 65 businesses along Atlantic Avenue between Fourth Avenue and the waterfront. Most of the artwork will be visible safely from outside on the sidewalks. There will also be specials and discounts at participating businesses and music and live dance to accompany the art walk. This collaborative effort between Arts Gowanus, the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corp, and the Atlantic Avenue Business Improvement District, was imagined in place of the annual Arts Gowanus Open Studio event and Atlantic Antic events; both were canceled due to the pandemic. Their goal is for you to enjoy art, rediscover the merchants on the avenue, and celebrate the local community.

You might discover a Columbia University graduate or two along the way. Ella Yang, alumnae of the Graduate School of Business, will have three paintings in a group exhibit in the windows of 472 Atlantic Avenue (at Nevins Street). Learn more about her work at If you stroll by in the afternoons either Saturday or Sunday, there is a good chance you will find her loitering by her paintings.

Arts Gowanus ArtWalk on Atlantic Ave is scheduled to remain open through November 1. A list of exhibits and locations can be found here.  For more information on the ArtWalk, follow @artsgowanusonatlanticave on Instagram.
